2005 Battle of the Books Champion

      Teams of students from Pender County’s elementary schools participated in the annual Battle of the Books competition on Friday, February 18 at Cape Fear Elementary School. 

     To prepare for the event, students read books from an established list and then competed in a quiz-bowl-style tournament to test their knowledge of these books.

     Burgaw Elementary School earned second place in this year’s event.
