As an integral part of the total school program, the NCHS-West media center is essential for the education of all students. Thus, the media center supports and reflects all areas of the curriculum and enhances the teaching/learning process. The attitudes and skills acquired in the media center are essential to the development of the well rounded individual and important in developing a commitment to life long learning. The center strives to provide the staff with materials needed to enhance their curriculum areas. Services rendered by the media center staff affects the entire school program. The materials in the media collection cover numerous topics in a variety of media, both print and non-print. It presently consists of 5166 volumes and 381 audio/visual and technology resources. The periodical collection includes forty-three professional and non-professional magazines as well as four newspapers offering local, state, national, and international coverage.
