I) INSTALLATION AND GETTING ON-LINE

I.1) Installation Of Software

Please note FreePPP is a combined effort of a number of individuals who made enhancements to MacPPP.  FreePPP unlike MacPPP supports Open Transport.  Open Transport or MacTCP may be used with FreePPP but NEVER both because they conflict with one another.  System 7.5.3 and later are preinstalled with Open Transport.

A. Insert the School Link installation disk # 1 and double click the Explorer 2.1 68k Installer Icon.
B. Click on Accept.
C. Click on Install.
D. When finnished replace the disk with the School Link installation disk # 2 and double click on FreePPP2.5v2 icon.

1.2) MacTCP Settings (skip if using Open Transport)

A. In the Main menu bar double-click the rainbow Apple.  Select Control Panel, then MacTCP.  Make sure FreePPP is highlighted and then click on more.  Enter in the following information:

Obtain Address: Server
Class:  C
Subnet Mask: 255.0.0.0  (drag the bar to the right)
Domain:  schoollink.net
IP address 207.86.145.4
Domain:  mail.schoollink.net
IP address: 207.86.145.5
Domain:  .
IP address: .

B. Leave the rest of the settings at the default settings.

C. Click OK and Restart your computer (if any changes were made.)
